Please call or e-mail as many Senators/Representatives as you can and urge them to SUPPORT the following bills. Kansas Senate (SB53) and House (HB2074) soon will be voted on that would exempt public colleges/universities, adult care homes, mental health facilities, and indigent clinics from the Kansas Personal and Family Protection Act, to prohibit guns indefinitely.
If your time is limited, concentrate on the Representatives; it stands a far better chance than the Senate bill.
Concentrate on Republicans (Party affiliation of each member is in parentheses on the list). We think all the Democrats will vote for the bills, but please write and thank them for their support.
Committees on these bills will be called soon, so it is important that calls and e-mails be made/sent ASAP. A hearing was held Thursday on the Senate bill. Here's a link to a story about the hearing: http://www.kansascity.com/ news/politics-government/ article128934189.html. A hearing on the House bill will be held this Wednesday.
