March 27 Meeting

This meeting will give our members an excellent opportunity to hear from someone who has a different  perspective on guns. Our speaker will be Scott Mosher, a former police officer and Director of Training at Frontier Justice, a retail gun store and shooting range in Lee's Summit. Mr. Mosher will focus his presentation on Gun Sense. He is an expert in weapons training, home gun safety, and he will offer explanations and his thoughts  on "constitutional carry" and open carry laws.

Remember Virginia Tech

Seung-Hui Cho, a senior at Virginia Tech, killed 32 people and wounded 17  in two attacks, two hours apart, before committing suicide. The attack is the second deadliest by a single gunman in U.S. history, behind the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting. Attached is a wonderful column, note this comment: Even if you carried your concealed, loaded gun to class every single day, your chances of being a hero are pretty slim. Because you would probably be shot, either by the shooter or by a trained security guard coming upon the scene, unsure of who is good, and who is not. So let’s just get that out of the way. Basically, unless you’re an armed marshal working a commercial flight, you are more in the way than you are any help.

Excellent article- Explains the  repeal of SJ Res 14

Special to the Star Editorial by the vice president of Western Missouri Shooters Alliance. He epitomizes the mentality of those who disagree with us.

Watch for an Action Alert: Federally Mandated Concealed Carry Bill

In late February, Sen. Cornyn of Texas introduced a Federally Mandated Concealed Carry bill in the US Senate (S 466). It's CRITICAL that we keep other senators from joining as co-sponsors. The corporate gun lobby is urging action with messaging strewn with "alternative facts" and the US Senate NEEDS to hear from our side.

We will keep you updated via an Action Alert and encourage you to contact Claire McCaskill if needed.

Consider joining the GAGV Speaker’s Bureau:

One of the Goals of our 2017 Plan is to develop a Speaker’s Bureau. The first  half of the year will be spent recruiting and training speakers…also, finalizing our presentation materials. To express your interest, please send an email to www.eduadvpart.com and Jan Pickler will get back to you.If you know of any group or organization that might be interested in our presentation, please e-mail that same address.
