We hope to see good attendance at this meeting. Many people have asked us through the years why we only hear from people who support our point of view. This is our chance to hear from someone who believes in firearms and also understands the need for training. It promises to be a very interesting meeting. 2. February Advocacy Meeting Follow UP As a follow-up to our February meeting, urging each of us to become an advocate, we plan to have an Advocacy Action at each meeting. Please be prepared to stay after next week’s meeting. It will begin about 5-10 minutes after the end of the presentation/Q & A. It will be described by our Action Committee member, Linda Finkle. 3. 2017 Heartland Coalition Announcement Exciting news about the October 9, 2017 Community Forum: Gun Violence. Keeping Our Children Safe! Our keynote speaker is Nicole Hockley, co-founder of Sandy Hook Promise, and mother of Dylan Hockley who lost his life that day. We are indeed lucky that Nicole has agreed to be with us, and know it will be an exceptional event. Details will be coming, but mark your calendars now. To “meet” Nicole in advance – watch Newtown, a documentary that looks at how the community of Newtown, Connecticut came together in the aftermath of the largest mass shooting of schoolchildren in American history. 4.News KC Star Editorial on March 19.
